Prophet Magaya’s The Heart Stadium has been given the go-ahead to host PSL matches

Prophet Walter Magaya’s newly built stadium, The Heart Stadium, has been authorized by the Zimbabwe Football Association’s First Instance Body (ZIFA FIB) to host Premier Soccer League (PSL) matches, commencing this weekend. The approval follows an inspection conducted by the FIB at the 5,000-seater stadium on Thursday.

According to a source, the facility, which features a cutting-edge playing surface equipped with a sophisticated underground drainage system, is now eligible to host top-tier league games.

The inaugural PSL match at the venue is scheduled between Yadah FC and Simba Bhora, potentially a local derby.

Confirming the news, a source informed Nehanda Radio, “Yes, The Heart Stadium has been granted permission to host PSL games. The facility will see Yadah hosting Simba Bhora this Saturday.”

The Heart Stadium was officially inaugurated by President Emmerson Mnangagwa in December 2023, following four months of construction. Recently, the stadium had a significant achievement by hosting pre-season training for Clube Ferroviário da Beira, the reigning champions of Mozambique.

During the stadium’s construction and opening, Magaya outlined plans for its expansion, aiming for a capacity of 40,000 seats in the future.
